What are your rights while studying in Poland?

  • If you have the status of refugee, if you receive temporary or subsidiary protection in the territory of the Republic of Poland, if you have the Card of the Pole, if you have the spouse, ascendant or descendants of a citizen of the Republic of Poland residing in the territory of the Republic of Poland – you are exempt from the tuition fees for full-time studies in Polish at the HEIs supervised by the Minister of Education and Science.
  • You may apply for an aid, rector’s scholarship and scholarship for the disabled. Detailed procedures in these matters are specified by the higher education institution.
  • If you have the refugee status, you are under temporary or subsidiary protection in the territory of the Republic of Poland, you have the Card of the Pole, you are the spouse, ascendant or descendant of a citizen of the Republic of Poland living in the territory of the Republic of Poland, you can additionally apply for a maintenance grant and a student loan.

 

What should I do to continue my academic career in Poland?

  • Contact the HEI or the research institute of your choice using the details available on their website.
  • You do not need a permit or permission from the employment bureau.
  • While continuing your scientific work in Poland, you are subject to social security and health insurance.
  • Within your scientific work, you exercise rights under the employment relationship in the same way as Polish citizens
